The NY Post and Huffington Post are both reporting on this supposedly "controversial" cover - Is Vogue "stooping" by putting a TV star on the cover, asks the NY Post?*
I completely disagree. I'm on board with the Vogue spokesperson, Patrick O'Connell, who noted that Blake Lively is a "girl of the moment."*
Nevermind the fact that I am a huge GG and Blake fan, but Vogue is about cutting-edge fashion. It's the go-to magazine on trends, upcoming collections, etc.
I'm fairly certain people have referred to it as a fashion bible...and more than that, it always tries to remain culturally relevant. GG is one of the hippest shows on television right now with some of the most creative fashions (people are constantly dissecting both Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen's wardrobes...as well as Chuck Bass because let's face it...it's Chuck Bass).
Actresses such as Reese Witherspoon, Rachel Weisz, Keira Knightley are high fashion magazines' favourites - and I think it's refreshing to see a new batch of faces (no disrespect to the aforementioned ladies, of course).
P.S. How excited are you that a batch of new February mags are coming out next Tuesday!
Jenna Fischer on SELF, the radiant Kate Winslet on InStyle, hilarious Isla Fisher on Allure, Renee Zellweger on MarieClaire, and the phenomenal DVF on Town and Country (just a few of the ones I'm considering picking up).
P.P.S. The newest Glamour is amazing (as per usual). I don't know how they do it but reading that magazine is like reading your inner monologue or talking to a friend or SOMETHING magnificent haha I loved going through the magazine with my boyfriend and his roomate (it's the guy issue) - they said a lot of it was true, which was hilarious. I also adored the layout, the models...the entire feature on "Happiness is...Beautiful Skin Every Day" - diverse and gorgeous women who didn't look "perfect."

[這個好] Blake is everywhere, getting invited to many more shows, and if anyone has their pulse on the Zeitgeist, she is definitely registering as the woman of the moment.

It's so true. I wouldn't be opposed to having Leighton Meester on a cover as well.
Her character Blair Waldorf, especially her fashion, is iconic.
