Everyone knows the recent trend is a massive movement to online - particularly print media.
Whereas I will always rather buy a magazine than read one online, there are some magazines that have created some stellar online communities that reflect well on their publication.
#1. Glamour.com: I may be hugely biased towards Glamour because I think it's a fantastic magazine, but hear me out. It's website is always current. Whereas some sites - such as Elle.com or WomensHealthMag.com - only update 3 or 4 times a day. Glamour's blogs - ranging from fashion, health, love, beauty - seem to be updated constantly and each in the particular blogger's unique style.
The comments on those blogs show that readers really feel like they know the authors - and the authors make a point of replying back to their community, making Glamour's site feel like a tight-knit group of friends, rather than a magazine site just rehashing articles (it should be noted that Glamour also features new articles developed for the web).
#2. Nylonmag.com: While this website has a myriad of photos and fashion to quench your hipster thirst - what makes this website is its blog. The photos and, dare I say, stylish font represent the essence of the magazine, and of the bloggers. Nylon's bloggers make you really want to go party with them and then reminsce about the night the next morning over pancakes - seriously. Also a favourite - they recommend a website/blog everyday, along with a song of the day.
#3. Self.com: So after the pancakes, you go over to SELFto get your life back together. Editor-in-chief Lucy Danziger was recently pumping up the blogs in her editor's letter for the April issue. But even with the pumping up - they're good on their own. With helpful saving tips, how to eat healthy on a normal person's schedule (not some fitness freak), style tidbits and a blog by Lucy herself - SELF is makinga great effort to reach out to readers.
Another bonus is their SELF Challenge section. You can load all your workouts, and food diary information in your profile. You can also join groups to find workout buddies...SELF has featured numerous reader testimonials of people who have really turned their health and weight around because of these online groups.
So there you have it! My top 3 favourite magazine sites that not only provide great reads, but a great sense of belonging to a like-minded community.
And because it's the weekend - here's some cuteness to get you through to Monday!

The MBT M.Walk defines MBT M.Walk Shoes trainers, sandals, etc. as being the first physiological footwear. Swiss engineer Karl Muller is the creator of these revolutionary shoes, and the way he discovered the principles behind them is shockingly simple.
BT M.Walk Shoe stands for Masai Barefoot Technology.
